LAUGHING ABOUT N.O.BODY
presentation and debate with Zoe Leonard, Ulrike Müller, Pauline Boudry and Renate Lorenz

The artists Pauline Boudry and Renate Lorenz talk about their project N.O. BODY, an installation that traces the use of the image of Annie Jones, the bearded lady. This photograph has traveled from the social context of the 19th century freak show into the medical theater of the early 20th century. The presentation will address the complex figure of the ‘freak’ and the effect of reworking historic photographs in film and performance.

As guests: Annie Jones, Gregg Bordowitz (virtually), Zoe Leonard, and Ulrike Müller

Please RSVP: jon@swissinstitute.net
