Curator Talk | Hans Ulrich Obrist on David Weiss

Please join us for this talk in which Hans Ulrich Obrist will speak about his close friend and mentor, David Weiss. Obrist will discuss Weiss’s life, his solo work and collaboration with Peter Fischli, as well as his legacy. The lecture will also cover the many collaborations between Hans Ulrich Obrist and Fischli/Weiss including Hotel Carlton Palace: Chambre 763Kitchen Show, Unbuilt Roads and Cloaca Maxima, and feature a screening of never-before-seen video footage. Hans Ulrich Obrist (b. 1968, Zurich, Switzerland) is Co-director of the Serpentine Galleries, London. Prior to this, he was the Curator of the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville, Paris. Since his first show “World Soup” (The Kitchen Show) in 1991 he has curated more than 250 shows. Obrist’s recent publications include A Brief History of Curating, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Curating But Were Afraid to Ask, Do It: The Compendium, Think Like Clouds, Ways of Curating and new volumes of his Conversation Series.
