Special presentation of the 25 visual essays by artists for EXTRA (see list below)

Sylvie Fleury, From Sprouts. They flourish into twin leaves /
The Perssimmon Seeds
, 2002.

With EXTRA, the book, 28 artists have come together, joined by critics, curators and physicists, to expose the depth and complexity of reality in a grand collaboration.

Each artist has contributed an 8 to 12 page original visual essay in full color. These images are complimented by several fascinating texts. David Deutsch and Seth Lloyd, quantum physicists, deliver a passionate round of "Brain Tennis" in their correspondence discussing the concept of multiple universes. Marc-Olivier Wahler's text about gliding through the folds of reality is an intricate companion to his exhibition. The texts of art critic Bob Nickas and several artists (John Giorno, Jutta Koether, Olivier Mosset and Steven Parrino) serve to round out and complete this multilayered collaboration.

440 pages, full color, to be released May 2003. Price: $39.99 / 25GBP
Special Launch: $29/20GBP (shipping not included) email: frank.olive@swissinstitute.net to order now!
